Chapter 2 C Zone Number 47
..
“Che! Why act so big”
“Making
him retire is also for his own good. What can he still do?”
“That is
right, at least he is sensible as to not use the club to collect pension.
Ye Qiu
and Si Mu Cheng left and those still in the conference room seem to suddenly
recover and started another round of snide remarks. Sun Xiang remained gloomy.
He did not participate and went up to the manager and asked: “I do not
understand, why did he accept the terms?”
“He had
to” the manager said
“Why?”
“Because
he could not afford the penalty fee.” the manager said.
“That…
Can’t be…!!! Sun Xiang was surprised. Ye Qiu was a Professional League
player who played for 7 years and had always been top-classed. Even if he
refused all kinds of sponsorship, just his play alone should be able to pay off
this penalty fee.
“You are
not from that era so you would not experience it. At the beginning of the
Professional League, Professional League Players were not as glorious as it is
now, most of them barely make ends meet and were only part-timers. In that
era those who were brushed down were all in a miserable state. Half their youth
were spent of gaming and with no life skills it was hard making a living. Ye
Qiu came from that era and by virtue of skill he came to this level. He has
many friend who were also like that.”
“You
mean his asserts were spent on those friends? Sun Xiang stared wide-eyed.
“Yes.”
“Then if
he need money, why did he not take of sponsorship?” Sun Xiang asked.
“That is
something no one knows.” The manager said.
“What
would be your guess?” Sun Xiang asked once again
“Maybe,
it could be due to his family.” The manager replied.
“Oh?”
“No one
knows about his family situation and he never talks about it. This is unusual
so this is what I suspect.” The manager replied.
“This
person…. Has a lot of secrets behind him! In Sun Xiang was the id card of A
Leaf of Autumn that Ye Qiu handed over. He knew that A Leaf of Autumn was Ye
Qiu’s casual account that he used since the beginning. It predates even the
beginning of the Professional League and is one of the oldest accounts in Glory
“Ok
enough about him. The boss is not free today and could not come but he
specially handed me a bottle of red wine from his prized collection just to
welcome you.” The manager said.
“Haha!
Then much gracious! Jia Shi now has me and will be making a comeback.”
================================
Ye Qiu
left.
Si Mu
Cheng stood at the club’s main door and watches as Ye Qiu leave. He kept
turning back to wave back at her. She had long already been in tears.
Not
saying too much, Ye Qiu only said these eight words: “rest for a year, I will
be back.”
TL note:
really 8 letters: 休息一年,然后回来
Si Mu
Cheng did not say anything and just solemnly nodded her head. She was no longer
the childish girl from the days past. She now has the courage to do things on
her own.
Drifting
snow started falling from the sky, this winter, is cold.
Tl note:
I think the author meant two things. The weather and the heart.
================================
Snowing?
When Ye
Qiu left the club he had not thought of the next step. After so many years and
suddenly everything changed. He was still not used to it. He wanted to take a
walk. Keep walking and walking until he could clear his head and figure out
something.
Who know
even the heavens would not give him that chance and started snowing and kept
getting heavier. Shoulders now wet from snow and ice was forming on his head.
He had no choice but to find a place to dodge a little.
He looked
around and saw an internet café along the road that was still open and rushed
over.
The
internet café was warm and he shook away the snow that was on him and requested
for a PC from the reception.
“Zone 47
PC.” The little lady at the bar said the machine’s location only to find that
the person is already gone when she wanted to return the ID card. She was not
surprised as this happened often and kept the ID. The person would come back
for it when he realize it was missing anyway.
Zone 47
PC, Ye Qiu followed after the numbers. This café was not small and there were a
rather large number of PC and there was also a level 2 to the place. Zone…. Ye
Qiu saw on the ceiling where he was supposed to be. Looking like he did not
have to go to level 2.
When he
counted down to number 47, Ye Qiu was startled. At the seat was already a woman
and she was playing glory. She was doing PVP in the Arena. Intense actions
making her high pony tail sway to and fro.
Looking
at her from the side and on the screen was her gunner. He was entranced. He
almost thought that Si Mu Cheng was sitting here.
He knew
this was not Si Mu Cheng. She was always so gentle and peaceful. During intense
PK she would still have a gentle smile. Even when she was making an apology,
you would still feel the chills.
As for
this lady, she looks so pretty and gentle, but that teeth grinding button
smashing and keyboard grinding ruthlessness made it feel like her looks are
from top to bottom a big lie.
“The
murderous aura is scary but sadly……” Ye Qiu looked at the screen and saw that
she was about to be in trouble. As expected, the moment she show a weak point a
chain of attack landed on her and her life total went to zero.
“HELL!”
Ye Qiu watched as the lady raged and closed the game.
Ye Qiu
was just wondering if he should take the seat when the lady turned her head and
saw Ye Qiu and stormed at him while standing up: “Using the PC?”
Ye Qiu
nodded.
“Sit here
then!” The lady said and was already leaving.
Ye Qiu
could not help but shake head at this level of play from a common player and
took to his seat.
Cheng Guo
was frustrated. Very frustrated. In the 1v1 PvP arena she fought for 52
rounds and did not even win a single round. She could not believe that what
just happened was real.
Cheng
Guo’s hand went to her “Zhu Yan Xia” in her
pocket. Her account was
not bad about the normal players, in fact it can be considered quite strong.
Her level of skill was not low and she has been playing Glory for around five
years. Her opponent’s character was not as good as her but she still could not
win even after 52 rounds.
“It must
be an expert.” Cheng Guo nodded her head as she came to that conclusion
“Lady
boss, you have not logged out of your game how can the guy play?” Cheng Guo was
pondering as she walked away when the regular customer reminded her while
looking at the PC that she just left.
NO good!
Cheng Guo hurriedly rush back. Due to Glory’s popularity, the account logger
for Glory had become a staple computer part and a must at any internet café.
Because the ID card only needs to be logged once at the start most people would
keep the card after logging in at internet cafés.
The ID
cards when lost can be reported. Making theft all but extinct. However at a.
internet café, it is common that people would carelessly forget to log out and
the user who came after would pilfer the gold and equipment. Cheng Guo was
still fuming from her 52 consecutive loss and did not notice. She did not leave
the game and only went back to the desktop.
Cheng Guo
rushed forward and saw that the person was really using her account. But it
seemed that he was not looting her account but fighting in the arena and
enjoying himself. She was just about to say something when the screen show 2
large words: “GLORY!” (荣耀) (Rong Yao)
